CAREER SPOTLIGHT: Therapy Services

Respiratory Therapists provide services to all areas of BRHC including ICU, ER, NICU, and all the patient care units while utilizing their full scope of practice including intubations, arterial line insertions, patient transports and more. Our role in the facility brings value to the inter-disciplinary teams in a dynamic and versatile approach to patient care. Facility expansion has provided opportunity for future growth of the department and further expansion of the role.

Qualifications/Education/Training:

Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Eligible for and maintains licensure to practice as a respiratory therapist in the province of Manitoba.

Certified in Advance Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Neonatal Resuscitation Program.

Manitoba Training:

The University of Manitoba is the only post-secondary institution in Manitoba to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
