Prairie Mountain Health is pleased to be offering perioperative orientation to RNs & LPNs within their home site operating rooms.

How it works

	AORN Periop 101 Theory and Lab Orientation: The AORN Periop 101 OR course utilizes a blended learning model to provide the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to practice within the perioperative environment.
	Theory & Observation: Aug. 26 – Sept. 20 Four weeks of condensed online self- study modules with a weekly opportunity to observe within their home site OR, preparing the orientee for basic perioperative roles and techniques.
	Lab Days: Sept. 23 – 27 One week of hands-on practice within the Brandon Regional Health Centre, incorporating content learned during the Theory portion & preparing for go- live orientation within the Surgical Suite.
	Clinical Practice: Sept. 30 – Oct. 25 Two weeks of assisted learning within the Brandon OR, and two weeks of assisted learning at the home site OR.
	Clinical Orientation: Oct. 8 – Dec. 6 Six weeks of preceptor-led orientation at the home site OR to complete the course.
