The World Health Organization has declared May 31, 2021 World No Tobacco Day. The current pandemic has many people quitting tobacco. The World Health organization has many helpful resources to aid in your quit journey. You can join this movement by pledging to commit here.
Help is available by phone or online too. Connect with the Smoker’s Helpline by phone at 1-866-366-3667, online at SmokersHelpline.ca, and by texting the word iQuit to the number 123456. Two apps that may be helpful are: Quit Genius and Quit Now!
There is also help available from your health care provider. They may be able to provide supports for quitting. Nicotine Replacement Therapy is available at select PMH locations. In the Brandon area, please call 204-578-4800 to see if there is availability. For all other areas of PMH, please call 1-877-509-7852 to inquire. Nicotine Replacement Therapy or quit smoking medications like Champix may also be covered by your health plan.
