May 2021
Safe Kids Week will take place May 30 to June 5, 2021 with the theme #PlaySafeOutdoors.
The topic of 2021’s Safe Kids Week digital campaign is Outdoor Play, encouraging children to #PlaySafeOutdoors and engage in active, unstructured and exciting play, daily.
The PMH Health Promotion Physical Literacy (PL) Loaner Kit program is designed to encourage children to play outdoors. Physical literacy is about developing fundamental movement skills that all kids need - such as running, jumping, hopping, throwing, and catching. Our PL kits have all the toys and games kids and families need to get started having fun and developing these important skills!
We also have a Geocaching Loaner Kit program that also encourages outdoor active play with a little bit of technological fun - great for a family outing. Families can hide their own caches (hidden containers with a prize inside) or they can go online or google Manitoba Geocaching Association.
There are hidden treasures all across Manitoba just waiting to be discovered – all you need to do is borrow a kit and go on an outdoor family adventure to find them!
