Did you know that the majority of people who smoke WANT TO QUIT. Prairie Mountain Health has invested training and resources throughout the region over the past 2 years to support smokers in the region who want to quit. Community Health Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Practical Nurses at Primary Health Care Centers are ready to provide various levels of smoking cessation support from Brief Intervention to one on one support. Some areas are able to provide Nicotine Replacement Therapies as well as group quit programs.

The mobile bus, serving communities that do not have a health office, has the capacity to assist those in wanting to quit the support they need to be successful.

MANTRA (Manitoba Tobacco Reduction Alliance) has launched a Facebook page called The Quit Crowd. It is a diverse and welcoming community of Manitobans who want to quit smoking for good.
If you’re a Facebook user, visit the page, ‘Like’ it and you become part of the quit crowd. It’s that easy. The page will have inspiring stories from quitters, tips from experts, as well as friendly support to help you quit and stay smoke-free.
