EFFECTIVE MONDAY, MARCH 15th all persons visiting health care facilities (hospitals and personal care homes) are now required to wear a medical mask for the duration of their visit. This includes:
- Designated care givers
- Designated visitors
- Outpatients attending medical appointments
- All staff
A person who enters or remains in our facilities will be asked to remove their personal mask and be given a medical mask which must be worn in a manner that covers their mouth, nose and chin without gapping.
Exemptions
- Children under the age of five years of age;
- Individuals with medical conditions unrelated to COVID-19, including breathing or cognitive difficulties, that prevent them from safely wearing a mask are exempted from this requirement;
- Persons who are unable to put on or remove their mask without assistance are similarly exempted.
