Health Checks: There’s a Whole Lot of Living Left to Do is a community-led group based in Brandon, Manitoba. It is made up of community organizations, researchers, health professionals, governments, and individuals.
The group is dedicated to promoting healthy aging and independence for older adults across the Westman region.
Health Checks has been recognized internationally by the United Nations Decade of Healthy Aging case studies as an example of collaborative community health.
Health Checks is hosting its 8th annual health and wellness expo on Tuesday September 15th, 2026, at the Keystone Centre in the MNP Hall from 9:30am – 2:00pm.
The event is free and open to all residents to get valuable information on health and wellbeing. The goal of the event is to connect community members, particularly older adults and caregivers, to local services that support aging in place.
Health care providers from Prairie Mountain Health and organizations will offer health screening such as respiratory and hearing screening and answer questions. Presentations on various topics will also be provided.
