Tim Horton's Smile Cookie Donation in Russell
For one week, from September 13 – 19, Tim Hortons restaurant owners donate the full $1 from every freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie purchased to support charities in their community. This year the Smile Cookie campaign in Russell went towards the Expanding Community Cancer program. Pictured from left to right are Melody Retotal, Mitch Mutia, Kathy Jocson (Asst. Manager), Andrea Glasman of Expanding Community Care, Eric Dizon (Store Manager), Mark Penafiel, Leanne Bily HR Manager and Director of Russell Inns Ltd. were all on hand as the staff of Tim Hortons presented the $13,358 that was raised during the week.
Royal Canadian Legion Makes Generation Donation
The Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund once again made a generous donation to Brandon Regional Health Centre. Members of the Royal Canadian legion Brandon Branch #003 Linda Wakefield (left) and Colleen Gammack (right) present a cheque for $9,679.30 to Scott Kirk, Director of Operations BRHC. This donation will be used to purchase 2 physiological monitor and stands (NIBP) used for monitoring blood pressure. One will be for 200 surgery and one for 300 surgery.
