BRHC Auxiliary Donates More Than $150,000 to Purchase Specialized Equipment
The BRHC Auxiliary continues to provide much-needed equipment at Brandon Regional Health Centre. The recent purchase of a video laryngoscope system will assist ICU patients in intubation of the trachea. The digital camera on the blade displays a view of the vocal cords, allowing placement of a tracheal tube in patients with difficulty breathing.
The Omnibed Incubators will reduce the stress on newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit by providing warmth and humidity to ensure they can use their energy level to grow.
Also, donations purchased a Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy Unit, which provides non-stop dialysis therapy to support patients with kidney failure.
These donations are made possible from the support received by the community support of the retail enterprises of the BRHC Auxiliary, namely the BRHC Gift Shop and the Nearly New Shop.
