Temporary changes to Dauphin Cancer Care services due to flooding
Updated July 9, 2026
Dauphin Regional Health Centre is closed due to flooding, and no services are being provided at the hospital. All cancer care services previously provided at the CancerCare Clinic in the hospital have moved to new locations, some within Dauphin, and some in other communities, described below.
We understand this may be stressful and inconvenient. Please know that CancerCare Manitoba and Prairie Mountain Health are working together to make sure you continue to receive the care you need as safely as possible.
What you need to know
Your cancer care continues — safely, at a new location.
- Appointments with your cancer doctor will continue — by phone, or in person at the Dauphin Medical Clinic, 622 3rd Street,SW, which is located across from the hospital.
- If your appointment was by phone or virtual, it will go ahead as planned.
- If your treatment or appointment was scheduled at the CancerCare Clinic in the hospital, it will be moved to a new location. Your care team will contact you directly to discuss where your treatment will take place, such as Russell, Neepawa or Brandon.
- Your appointment time may also need to change. We will book you as close to your original date and time as possible, and your care team will make sure any change is safe for your treatment plan.
- We are coordinating appointments, bloodwork and treatments whenever possible to reduce travel and make your care as convenient as we can.
Other temporary service changes
- Bloodwork: Ste. Rose du Lac Health Centre
- Care for ports and central lines: Available at community facilities, including Ste. Rose du Lac, Grandview and Roblin. Your care team will let you know where to go.
- Hormone injections: Now provided at the Dauphin Medical Clinic ([ADDRESS]), moved from the CancerCare Clinic in the hospital.
- Cancer medications taken by mouth (pill-based): Prescriptions will be sent to your local community pharmacy. The Dauphin Community Pharmacy remains open.
Do I need to call?
Most patients do not need to call. Your care team will contact you directly.
- If your appointment is more than 7 days away: Please wait to hear from your care team. We will contact you if anything changes.
- If your appointment is within the next 7 days: If you have not heard from your care team and you have questions, please call the Dauphin Cancer Care team (temporarily based in Russell) at 204-773-7550 (Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm).
Travelling to another community for treatment?
Before you travel, check Manitoba 511 for current road conditions, as some roads may be closed or damaged.
If travelling to another location is difficult for you, please tell your care team. We will work with you to find the safest and best option for your care.
We review these arrangements regularly and will update this page as more information becomes available. For current facility status, please visit the Dauphin Regional Health Centre Services Updates webpage.
