Prairie Mountain Health is currently recruiting an internal medicine specialist with a sub-specialty in cardiology to the city of Brandon. Brandon’s 313-bed Regional Health Centre includes 10 ICU beds.  Brandon Regional Health Centre provides echocardiography, TEE, MIBI scan, Stress MIBI, Tilt table, stress testing, Holter monitoring, ECG and includes Nuclear medicine support. Diagnostic Services include radiology, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. There is a wide range of specialist services available on site including paediatrics, Obs/Gyne, general and orthopaedic surgery.

Applicants will have the opportunity to join one of the various clinics located throughout the city.  There are also multiple teaching opportunities if this is of interest to the applicant.

     
Qualifications:    
  - Fellowship from the Royal College of Canada
- Current or eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba
- Must be a member in good standings with CMPA
     
Renumeration:    
   Remuneration will be fee-for-service. Rates are paid in accordance with the Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living collective agreement.

Prairie Mountain Health covers an area of 66, 201 square kilometers on the southwestern side of the Province of Manitoba with a population of 169,760. The region includes 115 towns and communities including the city of Brandon which is the referral centre for a catchment of nearly 200,000, 14 First Nations communities, and four French language communities.

Prairie Mountain Health employs over 8,500 people and operates 22 acute care/transitional facilities and 42 long-term care facilities. There are 170 primary care physicians and 67 specialists providing medical services in the area.

Brandon is a thriving city with a population of over 48,800, located 200 km west of Winnipeg on the TransCanada Highway.  It is large enough to supply all the retail, medical, educational and cultural needs on a daily basis and small enough to avoid high costs of living and long commutes to the workplace.  Brandon University has a significant reputation in music, general arts and science programs. Assiniboine Community College provides a wide range of education options. Riding Mountain National Park is one hour north of the city, and the Peace Gardens are situated on the Manitoba/North Dakota border just over an hour to the south.  There are numerous other recreational areas in Western Manitoba.  Dubbed “The Host City”, Brandon’s enthusiastic volunteer base lands many provincial, national and international events.  The “Wheat City” is a vibrant community in which to live, work and play.
