Russell Health Centre is a 32-bed acute care and 40 bed long term care facility. Services offered to the facility are Diagnostic, Ultrasound, Emergency, Public Health, Mental Health, and Home Care Services, Dialysis and the Satellite Community Cancer Program.

The Town of Russell is located on Highways 16 and 83, approximately 15 km from the Saskatchewan border and 340 km northwest of Winnipeg. The community is home to approximately 1,300 people with a trading area population of over 14,000 and provides services to neighboring First Nations people.

Russell is located only 27 km away from Asessippi Provincial Park and a world class ski facility and year-round family park. Lake of the Prairies, a 64 km long lake has third best pickerel fishing lake in North America.
