The fully accredited Brandon Regional Health Centre (BRHC) is accepting applications for a full-time Emergency Department Physician to start January 1st (or as soon as possible) in a term position ending September 30, 2018. The 313-bed Brandon Regional Health Centre is a regional referral centre for Southwestern Manitoba and receives about 27,000 emergency visits per year with greater than 60% being CTAS 1-3.  BRHC is a teaching hospital with residency programs for Family Medicine, Anesthesia, and EM residents, with opportunities for teaching and appointment with the University of Manitoba.

Employment Status:                     1.0 Indefinite Term

Required qualifications:
- Current licensure or eligible for full licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba

Preferred qualifications:

Renumeration/Hours:   - In accordance with the provincial contract, the current annual salary is $396,240 (including an annual stabilization payment)
    - A full-time position consists of 1400 hours per year (56 hours every 14 days)

Interested physicians should submit a CV with attention to ED training (example CCFP-EM), experience, and up-to-date information regarding certification in PALS, ACLS and ATLS. Please also provide the names of three references we may contact.

 Brandon is a thriving city with a population of over 55,000, located 200 km west of Winnipeg on the TransCanada Highway.  It is large enough to supply all the retail, medical, educational and cultural needs on a daily basis and small enough to avoid high costs of living and travel problems.  Brandon University has a significant reputation in music, general arts and science programs. Assiniboine Community College provides a wide range of education options. Riding Mountain National Park is one hour north of the city, and the Peace Gardens are situated on the Manitoba/North Dakota border just over an hour to the south.  There are numerous other recreational areas in Western Manitoba.  Dubbed “The Host City”, Brandon’s enthusiastic volunteer base land many provincial, national and international events.  The “Wheat City” is a vibrant community in which to live, work and play.
